You’re building something meaningful, often in the margins between school drop-offs, client meetings, and those quiet hours when the house is finally still.
You want your business to feel as polished on the outside as it is purposeful on the inside. And while you’re capable of doing many things yourself, branding asks for something different. It calls for clarity, intention, and a steady foundation to build from.
I’m Kait, and I created Saltmade Studio to support business owners like you who care deeply about what they’re building and want it reflected clearly in their brand. Through thoughtful design and strategic guidance, I help bring shape and direction to ideas that feel hard to hold on your own.
Instead of juggling freelancers, templates, or second-guessing every decision, I help pull everything together so your brand feels cohesive, confident, and ready to grow alongside you.
MEET KAIT
I have been fascinated by branding since the dinosaur era. Custom HTML on MySpace, burned CDs with hand-drawn covers, and carefully curated away messages. (Am I giving away my age?)
What started as curiosity turned into nearly a decade of running my own small business, then years as a Creative Director. Along the way, I learned how powerful design can be when it's grounded in purpose.
Today, I bring that same care into every project at Saltmade Studio.

Trust is everything... in life, in business, and in the relationships I build with clients. You're trusting me with your story, your vision, and your livelihood. I don't take that lightly.
I value clear communication, reliable follow-through, and treating your business like I'd treat my own.
The strongest brands are built when we show up honestly and without pretense.
Together, we uncover what makes your work distinctly yours and build a brand that feels comfortable, personal, and human...not performative or forced.

Entrepreneurship can feel isolating at times... but it doesn't have to be! I am here to listen closely, offer perspective, and help you recognize the strengths and gifts that make your business special, even the ones you may overlook.

I believe we are each given gifts meant to be shared. When extended with care and intention, creativity can serve others in meaningful ways.
This belief shapes how I work, how I serve my clients, and how I approach each project; with thoughtfulness, humility, and respect for the work you are called to do.

What started as my own wedding decor on Etsy turned into a thriving business. I quit my day job in 6 months, now filling custom orders with 30+ sales monthly.
It’s often messy, full of unexpected pivots, and shaped by seasons and circumstances you never saw coming. Here's a bird's-eye view of mine...
The path to building a business
(and a life you love) is rarely linear.
MY CREATIVE JOURNEY
Our baby boy arrived, followed two weeks later by an unexpected plot twist: my husband got laid off. I returned from maternity leave immediately, turning my small shop into our family's sole income.
Our second baby boy arrived and the Etsy shop continued to thrive, averaging 100+ sales monthly. It took a massive effort—yeeears of late-night creativity—but the lifestyle and pace was unsustainable.
Tragedy shifted my perspective: my family needed me more than the business. Even though sales were booming, the joy was replaced by burden. I made the difficult choice to permanently close my thriving shop to focus on what truly mattered.
I pivoted from the shop hustle after a season of homeschooling, returning to work as a Virtual Assistant. I soon took on full-service branding clients, which re-ignited my love for storytelling and strategy. That's where I saw the future: combining my love for both design and writing.
My role quickly evolved from VA to Creative Director at Ochre & Beige. I spend my days managing a team, writing copy, and crafting marketing content for interior designers globally. On the side, I continued to enjoy taking on my own visual branding clients.
After years of pushing the idea away, I'm finally taking the leap back into entrepreneurship — but this time, with purpose and boundaries. I can't wait to see how it unfolds.
After a sweet season of homeschooling, I felt the pull to return to work, only in a quieter, more flexible way. I officially began my journey as a virtual assistant and met my now-friend, Jaquilyn, powerhouse owner of Ochre & Beige. So thankful!
That same year, I took on two full-service branding and website design clients. It was here that I rediscovered my love for storytelling and strategy and began to see how my skills in both design and writing could (one day) come together to create something bigger.
Sometimes it takes something unfortunate to shift perspective, and that's exactly what happened. An unexpected family tragedy prompted me to press pause and focus on what mattered most: my family.
After reopening the shop, business was booming like never before, but the enjoyment and purpose I once felt began feeling more like a burden. I made the incredibly difficult decision to close my shop for good at the end of the year.
With the arrival of our second baby boy, life was a beautiful blur of nap time hustle and late-night creativity. Like really late nights. At this point the Etsy shop was thriving and averaging 100+ sales a month. It took a massive effort (yeeears of late-night creativity), but the lifestyle wasn't sustainable.
Still not quite sure how I kept this pace for several more years...
Everything was going great! Our first baby boy arrived, and with him, an unexpected plot twist: my husband got laid off.
I reopened my shop & returned from maternity leave MUCH sooner than planned. This small shop quickly became the sole income for our little family. My first "employee"? My husband (whether he liked it or not).
What started on a whim, selling hand-painted wedding decor I originally made for my own wedding on Etsy, quickly turned into a thriving business.
Within 6 months, I left my day job at the wellness center to focus on my shop full-time, filling custom orders and averaging 30+ sales per month.
I quickly grew from virtual assistant to full-time Creative Director of Ochre & Beige. I spend my days managing an incredible team, while finding enjoyment writing website copy, crafting compelling brand messaging, and supporting interior designers worldwide with ongoing marketing content.
Along the way, I continued working with visual branding clients on the side (as time would allow). It became something that continuously brought enjoyment.
After years of pushing the idea away, I'm finally taking the leap back into entrepreneurship, only this time, with purpose and boundaries. I can't wait to see how it unfolds. Grateful to have you along for the ride!
